Dr Wendy Merola graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio with her medical degree in 1986 and has been in the profession for over 20 years. She is board certified in family medicine. Dr. Merola became interested in medicine during high school when her math teacher gave her an award and suggested that she consider medicine as a career. While completing her honors courses at UT in Austin, others encouraged her to pursue medicine. After working as a respiratory therapist in the Seton Neo-natal ICU, Dr. Merola decided to follow her destiny and become a physician.

Dr. Merola, who has resided in Central Texas since 1975, has been married to her husband Larry for 23 years. They are the proud parents of a 15 year old daughter. She was most recently at the Austin Diagnostic Clinic and decided to make her dream come true by opening her own private practice. She makes a simple promise: To provide the best quality health care to her patients and to make them feel as special as they are.

Dr. Merola is dedicated to her family, her church community and volunteer work at her daughter’s school. She loves to craft things and decorated the office herself and people enjoy the relaxing Asian décor.

Ashlee Herzog, Office Manager

Ashlee is our office manager and is responsible for keeping the office running smoothly and efficiently. She juggles insurance verifications, scheduling, referrals, staffing and marketing for the office. Ashlee takes pride in providing excellent customer service to each person. Ashlee has been in the medical field and has managed several office staffs in diverse areas such as Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Physical Therapy, and Radiology, therefore she is capable of processing the complex demands of a busy family practice office.

Ashlee is a born and raised Texan and has been married to her wonderful husband Chris for four years. Their pride and joy are their gorgeous twin daughters. They enjoy spending time on the lake and watching Longhorn football.

Tobi Maglich, CMA-AC

Tobi is our medical assistant and is responsible for obtaining patients’ medical history and preparing them for their visits with Dr. Merola. She is also our phlebotomist, responsible for blood draws and laboratory specimens. Tobi is the contact person for medical information, lab results, and triages medical concerns over the phone. She updates all the information in our electronic medical records.

Tobi is a Northern California native. She relocated to the Austin area from Chico, California with her talented husband of thirteen years, Tom and their beautiful twins. They are enjoying Austin and all that it has to offer. From the lakes, camp grounds, underground caves, the Congress Avenue Bats, and music venues.

After spending four wonderful years as a stay at home mom Tobi decided to take a medical assisting course and became certified in both clinical and administrative medical assisting duties. She started her career in Pediatrics and has since moved on to Family Practice where she is enjoying the diversity in patients and practice.
